Felix Orinda alias DJ Evolve suffered paralysis after he was shot by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on January 17, 2020, at a nightclub.

DJ Evolve has been bedridden since the tragic event. He has been receiving physiotherapy after undergoing three surgeries in the past two years.

The physiotherapy, which is paid for by Babu Owino, is helping the mix master regain some motor skills –  functions that involve specific movements of the body’s muscles to perform a certain task.

“He is doing well but is still living an assisted life. He is also starting to feel his legs but he cannot walk yet.
Right now, he is being taught how to sit but continues to be assisted in feeding. It is good that he can now eat solid foods,” DJ Evolve’s father John Orinda told Nation.

Evolve’s father asserted Babu Owino continues to help them financially with a large chunk of the funds going to his treatment plans.

“He (Babu) is still helping; he has been arranging for my son’s treatment. Anything I ask of him, he does without raising questions,” Orinda said.

The family is preparing to mark the first death anniversary of Evolve’s mother Mama Mary Hongo  who died in September 2021.

Evolve’s late mother was with him in hospital most time after the shooting incident. She continued taking care of her son even when he was discharged, until her death last year.
