Michael Macharia, popularly known as DJ Brownskin has been in custody for more than a week as police complete investigations into his wife’s death.

DJ Brownskin was arrested and charged after police completed investigations into his connection with the death of his wife Sharon Njeri who died by suicide.

This followed a video that went viral in April 2023 where DJ Brownskin was seen recording his wife as she drank poison.

Brownskin was on Monday, June 12, 2023, arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina, DJ Brownskin denied three charges of aiding suicide, neglect to prevent a felony and destroying evidence by deleting the videos he had uploaded on his social media regarding the suicide incident at their Kariobangi South house in July 2022.

After denying the charges, DJ Brownskin urged the court to release him on reasonable bail terms saying he will abide by all conditions set by the court.

The court heard that the DJ has been in custody for more than a week as police complete investigations into the matter.

The magistrate, however, detained DJ Brownskin for three days pending a pre-bail report from the probation officers.
