Diamond Platnumz and Zari Hassan are both dating different people but what has come out clear from Netflix reality show ‘Young, Rich & Famous’ is that the two still have feelings for each other and could possibly reunite in future.
Zari got a romantic relationship with Diamond, who is 9 years her junior, sometime in 2014 – a year after divorcing her late husband Ivan Semwanga.
Diamond and Zari were blessed with two children in their relationship – Latifah Dangote (born on 6th August 2015) and Prince Nillan (born on 6th December 2016).
Zari alternated time between South Africa and Tanzania and so did Diamond when they were still dating, from 2014 to 2018.
Zari however broke up with Diamond for good on Valentine’s Day February 14th 2018 after she got tired of his continued infidelity. The Tanzanian heartthrob cheated on Zari multiple times, even siring a kid with Hamisa Mobetto.
Even though they broke up, Diamond still traveled to South Africa to Zari’s house to see kids. Zari has also traveled to Tanzania at least twice to visit Diamond.
Late last year, Diamond flew to South Africa to shoot Netflix reality show ‘Young, Rich & Famous’ which is set in Johannesburg.
Speaking on the show, Diamond admitted that he will never stop loving Zari.
“I love her (Zari). How can you hate a woman who has given birth to your kids?” he responded when asked if he is still in love with her.
Zari confirmed that she is dating and has moved on. She went on to explain that Diamond might have not completely moved on.
On the Netflix show, Diamond is hitting on Zimbabwean rapper Nadia Nakai, who also has a boyfriend based in the US. While Zari and South African TV presenter Andile Cube have shown interest in each other.
The Tanzanian singer took to Instagram to share his frustrations with his Andile Cube who broke the bro code after he hit on Zari.
“You snitched on me, Andile. Out of all my friends,” Diamond said.
“Yo! Easy, we spoke about this. I love you like a brother. Your family is my family,” Andile responded to Diamond.
It is not clear if Diamond wants Zari (Young, Rich & Famous was filmed in 2021 though it premiered on Netflix on March 18th 2022). The Tanzanian singer is currently dating Zuchu while Zari is in a relationship with Ugandan businessman GK Choppa.
In the Netflix show, Zari admitted that she can admire to be with Diamond though she said it was not possible as she couldn’t imagine getting back to the cheating habit of her baby daddy.
The Ugandan socialite also made it clear she forgave Diamond’s cheating habits severally until it got at a point he continued cheating without feeling shameful.
Zari and Diamond have continued to live together as one team especially in taking care of the family though it’s a fact they live in different places after they separated.
Speaking on Netflix reality series Young, Famous And African, Zari disclosed that her Tanzanian baby daddy sometimes sleeps with her in her bed when he visits to see their children.
“I’m not in love with Diamond, we can sleep together but wouldn’t touch me,” Zari said.
Zari added that she means well for Diamond and hoping he will get someone and settles. She insisted that their relationship is just for the sake of their kids.
