Diamond sets new record as first Sub-Saharan artiste with over 2 billion YouTube views

Diamond Platnumz has set a new record on YouTube having achieved another milestone that no other musician in Sub-Saharan Africa has accomplished.

Diamond Platnumz cannot stop, won’t stop and he isn’t planning to stop anytime soon if his recent accolades are something to run with. He’s winning as a musician, as an artiste, and as a conglomerate boss but most importantly, he’s winning as an singer.

As of December 15, 2022,  Diamond’s videos on YouTube had been viewed 2.0003B times on the platform.

“Diamond Platnumz has passed a total of two billion views on YouTube. He is the first sub-Saharan artist to reach this milestone,” Diamond WCB’s label celebrated via Instagram.

In 2020, the singer from Tanzania became the first musician in the Sahara desert to reach one billion viewers on YouTube.

The Tanzanian singer boasts of a handful of videos which have over 100 million views on YouTube.

His biggest hit ‘Yope’ has nearly 200 million views.

Diamond’s ‘Waah!’ featuring Koffi Olomide has 120 million views.

Diamond’s ‘Inama’ featuring Fally Ipupa has 117 million views.
