Diamond Platnumz has once again bagged a multimillion shilling deal to compose a praise song for Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni.

Ugandan events promoter Balaam Barugahara, who works with the presidency to organize state events, confirmed the deal Diamond inked with the Ugandan government.

Barugahara announced on social media that Diamond had composed a praise song for President Museveni.

“Thank You Diamond Platinumz for the New Classic hit for Mzee Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,” Barugahara posted.

It is the second time in recent time that Diamond has bagged such a lucrative deal. The Bongo singer was hired by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance to perform at the last rally held by the political outfit.

The Tanzanian singer was paid $100,000 after he performed for roughly 10 minutes and also endorsed Raila Odinga for President at the political event held at Kasarani stadium on August 6, 2022.

Diamond currently charges $100,000/Ksh12 million to perform. The performance fee is separate from other requirements that include the provision of a private jet and accommodation among others.

Event organizers booking Diamond are reportedly required to provide a bottle of whiskey, 12 beers, 24 bottles of water at any time, 12 face towels, quality accommodation and more.

It’s not clear how much Diamond charges to compose praise songs for clients such as President Museveni.
