49-year-old lesbian rapper Shawntae Harris-Dupart alias Da Brat and her wife Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart have announced the birth of their bouncing baby boy.
Judy gave birth to her healthy son in Atlanta on July 6.
“I can’t believe he came out of me! Feels like a dream. He’s perfect in every way. I’m very appreciative for such a blessing of our bundle of joy. This journey has been more amazing than we could’ve ever imagined,” Da Brat said.
The two lovebirds, who got pregnant through IVF, used a non-black sperm donor.
Da Brat got married to 41-year-old Jesseca, the CEO of Kaleidoscope Hair Products in 2022 on 2 February, a date they say was so special to them.
“We now have something special from the both of us that we can share and raise and love unconditionally,” Rapper Da Brat says.
“His name had been True Legend Harris-Dupart but now that we’ve met him we are tempted to name him PERFECT,” the rapper adds.
Da Brat’s wife Jesseca, already a mother of two, says they went back and forth about who would carry the bundle of joy.
“We had a little tug-o-war in the beginning… but I felt like she should have the experience. She is so nurturing,” Jesseca says.
Da Brat went ahead and carried the pregnancy after conceiving with an egg from Jesseca and a sperm from an anonymous donor.
