Popular comedian Timothy Kimani Ndegwa, popularly known as Njugush, set tongues wagging when he announced his intention to vie for a political seat in 2022 general election.

Taking to social media, Njugush announced that he would vie for the country’s top seat. He said that he didn’t want to start campaigning now as it wasn’t time for politics yet.

“I offer my candidature for presidency in 2022!!! This is not the time for politicking. That’s why I’m urging you all to come out in large numbers as you waste your time and resources to vote me in I promise you , you’ll always regret.” the comedian wrote in part on his social media post a couple of days ago.

Njugush went on to give his reasons why he believes he will be the best person for the top job in the country. Clearly, Njugush will always be the funny one in the room, especially when you go through his reasons why he believes he deserves to be the next president of Kenya.

“Reasons why me:
I’m cute
I’m so cute
I’m young and cute
I’m kabisa cute
I’m very cute
I’m so cute btw
Actually cute is me” he added.

Of course Njugush’s announcement was satirical, but his announcement nevertheless made some people think he plans to join politics at some stage in his life.

Speaking during an interview with Word Is, Njugush stressed that he has no political ambitions at all. He explained that politics is not his cup of tea because power and money corrupt people.

“I think our leaders can do better as compared to what they are doing, and I would not want to join them and see them misusing people’s resources,” said Njugush.
