Colonel Mustafa undergoes crucifixion in his new gospel song

Veteran rapper Colonel Mustafa has dropped a gospel song in which he underwent crucifixion in the music video.

In the new song dubbed ‘Mpe Muda’, Mustafa plays Jesus Christ as he showcases the suffering Jesus went through to save the world from sin.

Mustafa is seen struggling to carry a wooden crucifix with the robe he was wearing smeared in blood. He also has a thorny crown resembling the one Jesus had.

The visual borrowed heavily from Jesus’ last days on earth as his accusers lashed him with strokes.

The song’s storyline revolves around being patient and waiting for God’s time, as told in Isaiah 60:22 – ‘At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen.’

Mustafa’s new song debuted on YouTube on December 20, 2023.

Mustafa gave his life to Christ and shifted from secular music to gospel industry following his mother’s cancer diagnosis.

In May 2023, the rapper made headlines when he was seen working as a construction worker at a site in Utawala in Nairobi.

The rapper later came out to explain that he had gone broke because of his mother’s cancer treatment.

Kenyans came out in droves to fundraise for Mustafa to help him cater for his mother’s treatment as well as to aid him get back on his feet.

Following the support from well-wishers, Mustafa got back in studio to launch his music career as a gospel musician.

He released his first gospel song dubbed ‘Umenikumbuka’ on October 30, 2023.

In the song, Mustafa narrated how God remembered him when he fell from grace to grass, talking about his mother’s sickness, getting broke and thanking his fans for the support.

Mustafa subsequently released a four track EP with the same title ‘Umenikumbuka’ with songs giving thanks to God.

The song in the EP include; Umenikumbuka, Nashukuru, Asante and Mpe Muda.
