Apart from serving as a political analyst at Citizen TV’s Cheche Show, David Makali has also been offering consultancy services to the troubled Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The reason why the veteran journalist-cum-political analyst decided to terminate his consultancy services to IEBC has been explained as ‘conflict of interest’.
IEBC communication manager Andrew Limo only says Makali and the electoral body reached a mutual agreement to end the contract between them.
Limo further adds that Makali’s other engagements conflicted with the interests of the electoral body. IEBC has come under sharp criticisms from the opposition Cord for its inability to carry a free and fair election.
IEBC’s inefficiencies have been a subject of discussion on Cheche where Makali delivers his ‘unbiased’ insight. Makali couldn’t serve as the communication adviser for IEBC and at the same time sit in a panel that discusses IEBC flaws.
