Diamond Platnumz who has since taken the moniker Chibu Dangote was born Naseeb Abdul Juma in October 2nd 1989 in Tandale, Tanzania is a multi-winning Bongo Flava artiste who is known far and wide in the African region and across the world.

His remix for the single ‘Number one’ which featured Nigerian musician Davido brought him to stardom and recognition to the whole world if not Africa. The single won him numerous awards at Channel O and HiPipo Music Awards and also managed to perform at the Big Brother Africa 7, the eviction show in May 2012.

The single ‘Number One’ also won him the Tanzanian People’s Choice Award in 2014 in the category of Favorite male Video while he was nominated the following year in 2015 for the category of Favorite Male Artiste.

In 2013, he was the bestselling Tanzanian artiste of ringtones as ranked by mobile phone companies and that might be the reason why he has so many endorsements with various telecommunication companies. He is also arguably considered the richest artiste from Africa and also known for charging not less than 2 million Kenyan shillings (almost $20) for a performance.

He has fans from various African countries and he has performed in various countries in the world and collaborated with regional artistes like Flavour, P-Square, AKA, Akothee, Davido, Iyanya, Jah Prayzah, Iyo with a recent single ‘Marry Me’ with American RnB crooner NeYo set to be released soon.

On 3 May 2014, Diamond Platnumz set a new record at the Tanzania Music Awards by winning 7 awards, including Best Male Writer, Best Male Artist, Best Song Writer and Best Male Entertainer of the Year. The previous record was set by 20%, a recording artiste who walked away with 5 awards at the 2011 Tanzania Music Awards where diamond left empty handed. Prior to accomplishments, Diamond Platnumz held the record for winning 3 awards at the 2010 Tanzania music awards.

The awards that Diamond Platnumz has won are so many that it needs another article just to cover them. Diamond Platnumz has won 22 awards and 28 nominations worldwide

He is married unofficially to Ugandan model and socialite Zari Hassan whom they have two children together, a daughter, Tiffah Dangote and a son, Prince Nillan who was born late last year (December)

Diamond Platnumz who is a muslim endorsed Tanzanian dominant ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi(CCM) and its presidential candidate, Jakaya Kikwete.  He also endorsed the current sitting president John Magufuli Pombe in 2015 as the best presidential candidate.

Diamond Platnumz has managed to accomplish all his success in a span of a few years and with his record label Wasafi Classic Baby(WCB) has been able to bring forth new talent like Harmonize, RayVanny and recently signed Rich Mavoko and its arguably the best Bongo Flava record and management company in the world.
