Brian Ndung’u complains of harsh prison life after spending a few hours there

Brian Ndung’u made headlines after he was arrested on March 15th 2021 driving under the influence on Nairobi’s Muindi Mbingu’s street.

Brian Ndung’u was later on taken to Court, pleaded guilty to the offense, and was immediately freed by Nairobi Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu.

The Nairobi Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu ordered Brian to either pay KShs. 30,000 fine or face a three-month-long jail term.

Before going to prison, the former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu’s son was on record saying that he wasn’t scared of being in prison.

Seeming to be a changed man after a few hours in prison, less than 24 hours, Mr. Brian Ndung’u opened up about the harsh life of prison after only spending a few hours in lockup.

Speaking exclusively to K24 TV, the now humbled Brian Ndung’u says he had one of the most traumatic experiences in prison that he will never forget.

He said that he missed his evening meal shortly after his arrival due to long queues in the prison.

He resorted to settling on buying mandazis from the Prison’s kiosk so that he wouldn’t go to sleep at night without food in his stomach.

Brian Ndung’u, 25, narrated his experience in prison in detail shocked by how he was treated on the very first day.

He was asked to strip down, and remove everything he had on, even his boxers, something that he never expected because this was actually his first time in prison, ever and he didn’t know what to expect and he most certainly didn’t know how everything works in prison.

Ndung’u who wasn’t bailed out by his millionaire father narrated how he slept on the cold floor all night long without any mattress but given a blanket to cover himself up.

He was later on shaved, but that was after prisoners were given porridge for breakfast without any accompaniments whatsoever.

He was also tasked to wash the toilets and fetch water.

“They removed all my clothes, even my boxer, and I was given a uniform to put on. It was a shocking experience. I slept on the floor of the cell without a mattress, but I was given a blanket to cover myself until morning” Ferdinand Waititu’s son said.

Ndung’u who was bailed out by a close friend of his, Mr. Clinton Githinji was and will be forever grateful that he only spent a few hours in prison, a place that he doesn’t intend to go back to anytime soon. He was cleared to leave the Industrial Area Prison in Nairobi by 1 pm on Tuesday, March 16th 2021.

“I am happy my friend, Clinton Githinji, paid my fine. I left prison at about 1 pm on Tuesday,” Ndung’u said.

Kenyans were talking about Brian Ndung’u yesterday after he showed off his bravado smiling and posing for the media cameras.

He didn’t show off his bravado soon after leaving the Industrial Area Prison in Nairobi, a place that he said he wasn’t afraid of.
