Boutross might just be the king of trap music today in Kenya

5 mins read

Boutross might arguably the uncrowned king of trap music in the country today, he has been holding down the genre for the longest time now, converting non hip hop believers to trap music enthusiasts by every record he puts out because he is as prolific as any artiste can be.

The rapper who is one-third member of the rap group, AD Family has proved over and over again that he is one rapper nobody should mess up with when it comes to lyricism, punchlines, metaphors and rhymes. Boutross got it all and the number of records he has put out as a solo artiste and as a group under his group [AD Family] is super impressive to say the least.

Boutross is among the selected few talented artistes chosen to be a part of Mr Eazi’s empowerment platform, emPawa which sees selected independent artistes grow and emerge talented artistes into Global Superstars.

Through the emPawa Africa initiative, Mr Eazi has selected 100 artists to receive $3000 each to create a music video.

On the grant he was given by emPawa, Boutross managed to release one of the hottest records yet dubbed ‘Wrong’ which goes in hard and represents the Kenyan trap music to the fullest and captures you the first time you watch and/or listen to it.

You just have to have it on repeat when you listen to it for the very first time.

Cassper Nyovest

Cassper Nyovest recently took to social media telling the rappers that he was willing and ready to work with any artiste to help bring unity in the music industry one which is something that is currently not there, allegedly, his statement though was aimed at the Mzansi rappers who -true to his word- has finally gotten around to work with him with his recent collaboration project being with Frank Casino.

The independent artiste, Boutross Munene took to social media to ask the internationally acclaimed, South African rapper, Cassper Nyovest a verse for his ‘Wrong’ hit record and asked his fans all over to help him achieve this.

“I need @casspernyovest To jump on this Guys. I need as many comments and retweets as Possible Until He gets to hear this. ” a part of his tweet read.

Granted, if Cassper Nyovest can get around to blessing the record with his verse on the remix of the ‘Wrong’ by Boutross as the AD Family member wants. The Kenyan music scene in Kenya, especially the hip hop scene will change forever and for the better I might add because Boutross will become the first Kenyan rapper to work with Cassper Nyovest and there’s no denying, the collaborations if it were to happened, it will blow up the ‘Wrong’ record to even greater heights and in the process help the two artistes exchange fans and followers in their respective countries thus making it a win win situation.

The moves Boutross is making in the rap game today are unprecedented and it’s only a matter of time he conquers the entire rap game in Kenya the way he has owned the trap music in the country because his zeal, eagerness, commitment, work-ethic and the will to succeed and making it big in the music industry can’t be compared to any other trap artiste in the game today.

Stream his recent release ‘Wrong’ released under the emPawa below and understand how much work, Boutross is putting in his craft as an artiste.
