Sauti Sol’s front man Bien-Aimé Baraza Alusa popularly known by his mononym Bien finally opened up in his recent interview about almost divorcing his wife and surprisingly, to the shock of many, it wasn’t because of infidelity as netizen sleuths had earlier on alluded a few months ago.

Netizens had reported that Bien’s wife slept with Makena Njeri which caused the lovebirds have some issues.

Bien’s wife Chiki Onwukwe who is known popularly known as Kuruka was dragged into the messy public break up of Michelle Ntalami and her then-girlfriend Njeri Makena after it was alleged that she was among the many girls that Makena cheated with on her alleged cheating spree.

Edgar Obare’s minions who leaked the alleged details of Chiki Kuruka and Makena Njeri’s alleged affair said that Kuruka is bisexual adding that her husband Bien was well aware of it and was cool with it.

The informants told the Tea Master himself that Bien-Aimé and his wife Chiki Kuruka have a mutual understand that allows her to “have fun” with other women coming her way.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Bien denied all the rumors that have been going around about being in an open marriage with the love of his life saying that he would be gutted, maybe even die if he would ever find out that his wife broke her marriage vows by sleeping with somebody else.

“Open relationship gani, mimi nko open minded, siko in an open relationship nko open minded,” said Bien while speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha in November 2021, “Inaweza niuma by the way, naweza kufa nkiskia dem wangu ati msee alimkata… naweza die. Siko hapo ata mentally.”

The couple are one of the best couple in the entertainment industry today and probably every other couple who knows them wants to emulate their liberal nature.

What came close to ruining their marriage was something else, it happened back in 2020 when COVID-19 pandemic broke out.

The singer said that being in the same house all day everyday due to lockdown got to him and it was driving him nuts and he couldn’t take it anymore. It was then that he contemplated divorcing his wife who traces her roots from the beautiful, and rich country of Nigeria.

“My wife and I have been married for two years now, we got married a week before the pandemic started. When you get married, nobody gives you the tools, people are happy for you.

For a long time in my life, I only looked at my wife as a love interest romantically and then the pandemic happened.

Being in the house all day with my chick every day, amazing as she is, it was driving me nuts. The small things became the big things and 8 months in, I was like I want a divorce, this is too much,” said the happily married Bien.

He disclosed that seeking out the services of a marriage counsellor helped him save his marriage which has helped him patch things up as a married couple who have a bright future ahead of them, together.

“I started going for counselling and I was like men I don’t wanna be married. I didn’t realize that when we were dating, I was just travelling.

I would come back for two weeks and I was all lovey dovey, then my house was empty for a whole year and I was like babe move into my house instead of paying rent,” Bien said.
