Bebe Cool, known by his real name Moses Ssali, as is seeking millions of shillings as compensation in a lawsuit filed against his former barber.

The Ugandan ragga musician and his wife Zuena sued Martin Shafat Ssaku, who runs Mart barber Hair Studio, for defamation.

The celebrity couple in an affidavit accused their former barber of  maligning their characters in libelous information he issued against them.

Bebe Cool and wife claim that their former barber was spreading news that the celebrity couple has failed to pay UGX 3 million/Ksh 90,000 for services rendered to them at his hair studio.

The barber had allegedly claimed on social media that Bebe Cool and his wife maintain a high-end lifestyle that they can’t afford given that they have failed to clear payments for services at his hair studio.

The controversial singer is seeking a whopping UGX200 million/Ksh 6 million as compensation in the lawsuit filed at the High Court in Kampala.

Bebe Cool and wife claim that their brand suffered irreparable damage as a result of the libelous information issued against them by their former barber.

“That without the first and second plaintiffs’ (couple’s) consent owing to their brand, popularity and great reputation, the defendants (Ssaku and his company) well knowing of its benefit from the same without any claim of right whatsoever always made motion pictures, videos and took photographs of them during the process of giving their services that were later posted on the defendants social media pages for material gain and advertising their services without the plaintiffs consent,” reads in part the affidavit.
