Babu Owino has raised a furore over inflammatory remarks he made on the recently released Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
When the BBI report was released on Wednesday in Kisii, ODM leader Raila Odinga advised Kenyans to read the report keenly before even criticizing it.

Raila’s sentiments came amid fierce criticisms for BBI from politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto who opposed the report even before its release.
Babu Owino on the other hand is advising Kenyans not to read the BBI report altogether, but rather just endorse it blindly.

Taking to Twitter, the firebrand Embakasi East MP told Kenyans that they didn’t have to read the BBI report since Raila says it is a good report.
Babu argued that no one should doubt Raila since he had read the BBI report himself and found that the content was good for the interests of all Kenyans.
“Advice to Kenyans, You don’t have to read the BBI report when Baba says it’s good then it is. He has gone through it and the content is for the interest of Kenyans.

Babu’s tweet sparked uproar from Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) who called him out for brainwashing unsuspecting people.
“@HEBabuOwino 2010 you folks said the same, baba akisoma iko sawa right now you are brainwshing people and when unga ikipanda to 200 you will say maisha imepanda not unless we pay them 15000 monthly but the economy is dead, its better me make raila a lifetime president than this bbi witch hunt,” @josephkaruoya responded to Babu Owino.
