Andrew Kibe was on Wednesday September 25th arrested by police at his work station before being arraigned in court for defaulting on a loan he took from a friend way back in 2012.

Joshua Ichang’i Weru loaned Kibe Ksh 215,000 and he was to pay him back the money within 18 days with Ksh 55,000 as interest.

The Kiss FM presenter however failed to pay back the loan as he had agreed with his creditor. Now the money he was loaned has accrued significant interest over the past 7 years, Kibe now has to pay Joshua a whopping Ksh 2.5 million.

Employment and Labour Relations Court on Wednesday ordered Kibe to pay Ksh 500,000 by October 3rd, as part of payment of the money he owes Joshua, failure to which he risks arrest and detention.

“…Let me tell you how petty some people can be, even before we have seen the judge the whole story is already out”

Andrew Kiba said in part.

Kibe took to social media to talk about his ordeal after his arrest, he blasted his ‘friend’ for not being patient with him and even embarrassing him at his place of work by showing up with police officers and having him arrested.

“Nilikuwa nimeshikwa I’m free now. You know kuwa na deni si kitu kubwa lakini sasa unacome kunishika kwa station, hiyo ni ungwana kweli. Let me tell you how petty some people can be, even before we have seen the judge the whole story is already out. Anyway with that being said, I pray that you treat your friends with leniency because ile mbio nimepelekwa my friend by somebody who I thought was my friend, nimeonyeshwa maneno. Hata kama mtu ako na deni yako isiwe ni kukufa, be easy…” said Andrew Kibe in an Instagram video.
