Akothee’s youngest daughter Prudence Okello commonly known as Fancy Makadia has waded into the controversy surrounding her mother’s failed keynote at Ngiya Girls High School.

France-based Fancy Makadia jumped to her mother’s defense after she was blocked from speaking to students at Ngiya Girls by ACK archbishop.

“Continue praying for us sinners, so we could all meet in heaven on that day in Jesus’ name Amen,” Fancy Makadia wrote after the incident.

Akothee had a similar message to the Anglican archbishop.

Addressing the ACK archbishop, Akothee ask that they continue paying for her and other sinners.

“To the Arch Bishop I understand where you are coming from, continue praying for us sinners, so we could all meet in heaven on that day,” Akothee said.

Akothee was slated to address students at Ngiya Girls High School in Siaya County but late intervention by the archbishop saw her blocked from the institution.

The singer had been invited to the school by the principal Hellen Juma to advise girls on Talents Day on Sunday, August 6, 2023, where she was to give a keynote.

However, some stakeholders at the school ‘felt uncomfortable’ with Akothee’s presence at Ngiya Girls.

The Anglican Church, the sponsor of Ngiya Girls, rejected the idea of Akothee advising girls at the facility.

“The ACK Bishop of the area is not comfortable with our presence. They even went to the school and were very hard on the Principal, Madam Hellen,” reads a note that was giving the reason for the cancellation of Akothee’s visit.

Akothee said she was invited by the principal because of the good cordial relationship they enjoy.

“Thank you very much Madam Hellen, may The almighty bless your heart. I met you in Sinyolo Girls and you stole my heart with your kindness, you made my work of admitting the less fortunate easy,” said Akothee while reacting to her cancellation.
