Akothee was among a handful of musicians who were feted at the 2019 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) that was held in USA in late October.
The 2019 AFRIMMA was held at The Bomb Factory, Canton Dallas, Texas, USA on October 26th. Akothee and Mzazi Willy Tuva were among Kenyan celebrities who won big at the award gala.
Akothee won Afrimma award for Best Female East Africa. She managed to beat competition from music heavyweights like Nandy and Vanessa Mdee.

Akothee arrived home on Tuesday November 19th after her big win at AFRIMMA award. The singer was welcomed by dozens of supporters at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The reception Akothee was accorded when she arrived home on Tuesday is reminiscent of her grand reception in 2016 when she first won AFRIMMA award for the same category – Best Female East Africa.
