Slain rapper Kiernan Forbes popularly known as AKA emerged as the biggest winner at Metro FM Music Awards gala.

The 17th Metro FM Music Awards took place at the Mbombela Stadium, Mpumalanga, on the evening of May 6, 2023.

The rapper, who was murdered on February 10 in Durban, South Africa, was nominated in six categories but won in four.

AKA won Artist of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Artist, Best Male Artist and Best Collaboration Song (AKA feat. Nasty C – Lemons).

The family of the slain rapper, the Forbes, were present to accept the awards on his behalf.

AKA’s murder still remains a mystery as police are yet to arrest any suspect(s) to date.

The rapper’s mother Lynn Forbes, however, maintained that police should be allowed to investigate her son’s assassination at their own pace because rushing it would not bring him back.

Speaking during an interview with eNCA, AKA’s mother noted that she already lost her son and that even if the investigations are rushed she will not get him back.
