AKA finally receives Gold plaque for ‘Touch My Blood’ album

4 mins read

AKA’s last album ‘Touch My Album’ went gold in physical copies within a week and the whole of Durban couldn’t take a chill pill as #TouchMyBlood trended on Twitter in Durban for over a week and for a good reason.

Many fans came out to show the ‘Composure’ hitmaker and he signed out all physical copies that fans came out to buy in convenience stores countrywide.

Though AKA won’t drop any other album after ‘Touch My Blood’ he has made a musical map not only in South Africa and Africa in general but the whole of Africa and helped put the African hip hop in the global music map and after he ventures in business -as his manager, Tshiamo Letswene confirmed on different sources a few months back- to concentrate on running his business empire and spending time with the family, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes aka AKA has indeed left a mark in the hip hop and music scene.

That being said AKA just took to social media to give his thanks for his business team, Beam Group and himself for going Gold in a week independently and being proud for doing that on his last big project.

“#TouchMyBlood 🔴📀 Thank You so much for the support … so many people said we couldn’t do it on our own. We went and found our own distributor, did our own marketing … shit, we even put up our own billboards. WE WENT GOLD IN A WEEK 📀” AKA said in part.

AKA being as vocal as he is, he opened up about many unnamed people, preferably enemies of progress who even went ham to try to stop the album from releasing and getting it pulled down entirely while some claiming that they made him be who he is today. Of course, he isn’t fazed at all with all that and takes it easy with all that.

“There were people who even tried to get this album pulled down, there were people who tried to use lawyers, said we would flop, said we weren’t experienced enough to do it … people who told us they made AKA. All they did was lie to themselves. YOU made AKA. Not even AKA made AKA. ” further explained.

AKA is enthusiast enough that ‘Touch My Blood’ will go platinum rather sooner than expected while he received the official GOLD plaque for the album and he couldn’t be happier.

“This is a small step on the way to Platinum 💿 for this CLASSIC ALBUM. (This GOLD award is purely based on HARD COPY SALES WE HAVENT COUNTED DIGITAL SALES AT ALL 💻📲🎹🎼) … Thank You to NYCE Entertainment & all the @beamgroup_ GANG ❤️ … Thank GOD for giving me the strength & patience to pull this off with my friends and family. Thank You to all the artists who featured and producers who lent their talents to this project. We’ll get your plaques to you as soon as we can. #TouchMyBlood 🔴” AKA posted on Instagram as he shared a video of his Beam Group company putting in work late with some of his team members taking turns to take a picture with the GOLD plaque.

Now, all eyes are set for the Platinum plaque which is on the horizon now that the Gold is already coped. Esskeetit
