Kenyan rugby sevens team, Shujaa, recently won the country its first Main Cup trophy as they beat Fiji to lift Singapore 7s.

Shujaa made Kenya proud and as such they were highly praised and even given monetary rewards with Uhuru giving them Kes 10 million.

Harambee Starlets Tuesday last week beat Algeria to securing a dream ticket to the 2016 Women’s African Cup of Nations finals to be held in Cameroon in November.

Kenya had drawn 2-2 with Algeria in Algiers before they drew 1-1 in Nairobi. Starlets proceeded to African Cup of Nations on away goal advantage; Algeria conceded more goals in their home turf compared to Kenya.

Starlets’ victory was not widely celebrated like Shujaa’s but the victory was noticed by Uhuru Kenyatta who invited the team to State House today for a chat.
