Kenya’s man opposition, the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) say, they will hold a rally during Madaraka day at Uhuru Park,1st June.

This has not been taken well, as its been a norm to hold Madaraka as a state function and CORD having their own plan could mean something else. They are a government on their own.

Earlier, some preachers had booked Uhuru Park only for their license to be revoked after payment.

CORD has been pushing for the ousting of IEBC Commissioners and a complete revamp of the electoral body, by demos which as the law stipulates, is impossible.

Police reportedly, informed KANU’s Secretary General Nick Salat, who is also planning to attend the CORD rally, that Uhuru Park is not available for CORD since it had been booked for three days by Prayers Beyond Boundaries Ministries on Friday.

Do you think CORD has a right to hold their meeting same day and parallel to a public historical state function? Or should they let the preachers have their day?
