Asad Khan’s brother Adil Khan had explained the nature of the injuries his brother sustained when he arrived at Nairobi Hospital.
He found the good Samaritans who rushed him to the hospital and thanked them for the good gesture.
Adil says Asad reportedly died twice as efforts to resuscitate him by doctors gave them hope.
Mr. Asad did not have sufficient blood in his body and that’s why he was transferred to Avenue Hospital because they had A+ blood.
A portable ICU machine was also taken in the ambulance from Nairobi Hospital as they tried to save his life. A blood donation drive was also initiated to help him get enough blood to stay alive.
There was no blood leaking out from the injured part, Adil says. The doctors used a cloth to tie the cut and began to transfuse blood and it was until then that they noticed the nature of the injury as a leak began to flow and show.
Adils says Asad needed up to 10 pints of blood to save his life.
The doctor at Avenue Hospital noticed that Asad had a punctured lung on the right-hand side after using medical machines.
Adil further says he personally saw that Asad was beaten on his head around his eyes, scratches on his neck, and his right ear and chin were swollen.
The doctors requested that he could do a consent letter, for the team of doctors to start operations and install machine pipes. Although Adil found it hard, he had to sign off and the procedure was done.
The doctors had already done an X-ray on Asad’s body and deduced that Asad’s heart and brain were working very well after he was placed in the HDU.
His breathing had improved, Adil adds.
Doctors finally discovered that Asad’s liver, kidney, and pancreas had been fatally damaged.
