The mother of the late gospel singer Betty Bayo has resurfaced with a bold and uncompromising list of demands, insisting the family must finally learn the truth behind her daughter’s sudden death.

Speaking during a Facebook livestream with Shiru Wa Oakland over the weekend, the grieving mother said too many questions remain unanswered — and only a postmortem can reveal what really happened in Bayo’s final hours.

“A postmortem must be carried out on my daughter’s body so that we can have clarity on what exactly killed her,” she declared, her voice firm and resolute.

1. A mandatory postmortem

Her first and most urgent demand is a comprehensive forensic examination of Bayo’s body, saying the family cannot rely on speculation or hearsay. She stressed that the investigation must be thorough and official, leaving no room for doubt.

2. Immediate relocation of the children

Bayo’s mother also raised alarm over the safety of her grandchildren, insisting they be removed from the house they currently live in — the same home they shared with their mother before her death.

“Those children should never have returned to that house,” she warned. “If it is possible for them to be taken out today, I will pay for wherever they go.”

Though she acknowledged she may not be able to travel to Kenya immediately, she vowed to fund their relocation and oversee every step of the process from abroad.

3. Full police procedure — starting with an OB number

In her third demand, she called on pastor Victor Kanyari, the children’s father, to initiate official police processes to guarantee the children’s lawful and safe transfer.

“Pastor Kanyari should go to the police, get an OB number, and obtain permission to take the children,” she said.

4. Release of all documents — hers included

The grieving mother further insisted that all important documents belonging to the children — and even her own Kenyan ID, which she claims is still inside the house — be released immediately.

She stressed that those handling the children must surrender every document and item left behind by her late daughter.

“Everything that belonged to Betty must be released. Those things are not theirs — they belong to Betty’s children,” she said, adding she intends to “fight for them.”

5. Children to be placed under the care of their aunt, Wanjiku

Her final demand centres on custody. She expressed particular concern for Bayo’s daughter, saying she feels the girl is vulnerable in the current environment and may be negatively influenced.

Her solution: the children should be moved to live with their aunt, Wanjiku, as soon as they are removed from the house.

“My biggest concern is Betty’s daughter. As morning approaches, I want the children taken out of that house today and moved to my daughter Wanjiku,” she said.

“We will even seek a lawyer so the children can be legally removed.”

While she conceded she may be unable to fly to Kenya immediately due to other commitments, Bayo’s mother insisted she will not relent until both the postmortem and the relocation of the children are completed.

Her emotional plea has added new pressure on authorities — and on Pastor Kanyari — as the family pushes for answers, safety and justice following the tragic death of the beloved gospel star.
