In the world of celebrity flings, we’ve seen pre-nups, non-disclosure agreements, and messy breakups—but the curious case of Iyanii and Shes Kemunto has taken “professional dating” to a baffling new level.
The Kenyan music scene has been rocked by a public “he-said, she-said” battle after Kemunto claimed a romantic reunion with the singer on March 9, 2026—only for Iyanii to effectively serve her with “digital divorce” papers just hours later.
The drama centers on a mysterious “relationship contract” that Kemunto originally claimed had expired in February, bringing their four-month partnership to a cold, clinical end.
The confusion kicked into high gear this week when Kemunto took to social media to hint that the pair were back in each other’s arms. Despite the previous “expiry date,” she insisted that, from her perspective, the relationship was very much alive.
“I love him,” she declared to her followers, suggesting that the “business arrangement” had blossomed into genuine affection and a March 2026 reconciliation.

However, the romantic bubbles were burst almost instantly.
Iyanii, clearly not sharing the same “interpretation” of their status, issued a blunt formal denial that left little room for imagination.
The singer made it clear he was unaware of any reunion and urged fans to stop spreading “rumors” fueled by Kemunto’s posts.
“I have not renewed any contract,” Iyanii stated firmly, emphasizing that he was not involved in the content circulating online and had no intention of extending their previous arrangement.

The public spat has divided fans, with many now questioning if the entire four-month saga was ever “real” or simply a high-concept publicity stunt gone wrong.
While Kemunto appears to be driven by personal feelings, stating she believes they are still together, Iyanii’s cold distance suggests the “contract” was the only thing holding them together.
