He is no stranger to the headlines, but Pastor Victor Kanyari’s latest attempt to clear his name has left Nairobi’s faithful in a state of utter disbelief.
The self-styled prophet, who has spent weeks fending off rumors that he is romantically involved with viral “club girl” Marion Naipei, chose a Sunday service to make his most candid—and graphic—defense yet.
Addressing his congregation at the Salvation and Healing Ministry, Kanyari claimed he is physically incapable of having an affair.
The rumors began in late January 2026, when Kanyari took Naipei under his wing following a traumatic incident where she was recorded in a vulnerable state at a local club.
Netizens were quick to “marry them off” after Kanyari was seen holding her hand and calling her his “sweetheart” on the pulpit.
However, Kanyari was quick to shut down the “bedroom” talk with a startling admission:
“Sasa hapa mimi nikae ‘ehh Kanyari ni kama analala na Naipei’ aiii. (Now I’m here and you think Kanyari is sleeping with Naipei?) Mimi hata nguvu za kiume ziliisha zamani. (My manly strength ended long ago.) I don’t even know when I last had feelings. I don’t have those feelings,” the preacher stated bluntly.
The defense comes just days after the relationship between the mentor and the mentee appeared to sour.
Kanyari recently referred to Naipei as a “Paka ya msituni” (Wild cat) after she allegedly requested money for alcohol during a live broadcast, leading some to believe the “reformation” project had failed.

Despite the friction, Kanyari insists his intentions remain pure and that the public is simply “jumping to conclusions.”
While some of his followers applauded his “honesty” in discussing his health, critics argue that the preacher is simply using a controversial medical claim to distract from the optics of his close bond with a “scandal-ridden” star.
For Naipei, who has recently announced her salvation, the “reformation” continues under the shadow of Kanyari’s latest bombshell.
Whether this claim will put the dating rumors to bed for good remains to be seen—but in the world of Pastor Kanyari, the drama is never far from the altar.
