Social media influencer Shes Kemunto has confirmed her high-profile breakup with musician Iyanii, effectively terminating one of the most talked-about social experiments in modern celebrity dating: a strictly sex-free relationship in the glare of the public eye.
Speaking to Milele FM, Kemunto used the phrase “Contract iliisha” (the contract ended) to describe the conclusion of their four-month romance.
“Dating ilikataa (Dating failed),” Kemunto admitted in a candid phone interview with Milele FM.
“Contract iliisha (The contract ended). We both had different interests.”
The breakup marks a sharp turn from late 2025, when Kemunto appeared on a YouTube interview with Alex Mwakideu and demanded that Iyanii marry her within six months.
At the time, she stressed that their relationship was heading straight for the altar, especially given their shared commitment to celibacy.
“We both had different interests. We had a good time… but dating, Iyanii and I, tulishindwa (we failed),” Kemunto admitted.

The celibacy journey
The pair became a trending topic in September 2025 when Iyanii revealed he was a virgin and that they were practicing strict boundaries—including using pillows as barriers in bed and limiting physical contact to five-second hugs.
27-year-old Iyanii claimed that he was still a virgin and intended to remain so until his wedding night.
To combat temptation in their strictly no sex relationship, the pair revealed that they slept with a physical barrier of pillows between them whenever they shared a bed.
Physical affection was also strictly rationed. The couple adhered to a “five-second hug rule,” ensuring that no embrace lasted long enough to spark “unholy” thoughts.
Iyanii previously told interviewers that Kemunto was the only woman who respected his choice to remain chaste, claiming he had dumped previous partners for being “too pushy” for intimacy.
However, the “spiritual journey” seems to have hit a dead end just four months in. Insiders suggest the pressure of Kemunto’s six-month marriage ultimatum may have been the final straw.
She cited cultural pressures and a desire for stability as the reasons for the rush. At the time, a “cornered” Iyanii promised he would wed her soon, but it appears the “Donjo Maber” star wasn’t ready to trade his virginity for a wedding band just yet.
Despite the split, Kemunto insists there is no bad blood, describing the singer as a “good person” who gave her a “new perspective on life.”
As for Iyanii, the singer has recently made headlines for claiming he turned down a Ksh3 million offer from a female fan who allegedly wanted to “buy” his virginity.
With the relationship now over, fans are left wondering if the singer will maintain his celibacy vow or if the “pillow barrier” was the very thing that drove the couple apart.
