Gospel singer Guardian Angel, born Peter Omwaka, has shut down rumours that he is set to join the pulpit as a pastor.

The ‘Nadeka’ hitmaker admits he lacks the “extreme patience” required to lead a congregation.

The star has been personally funding a massive church construction project for a local community, but insists he is not even a member.

In a candid video shared with his followers on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the award-winning artist addressed growing public speculation that his recent philanthropic efforts were a prelude to him becoming a pastor.

Despite his deep involvement in building a new sanctuary for a needy community, the singer admits he simply isn’t cut out for the cloth.

“Kukuwa pastor si kitu mbaya lakini siko hapo. I don’t have that patience. Maybe God will help me later, but being a pastor is hard,” he said with a laugh.

Speculation began to swirl in late 2025 when the singer announced he would solely fund the construction of a church made of “old iron sheets with holes.”

While his fans lauded the move, many assumed he was building his own “headquarters” to launch a ministry.

However, Guardian Angel was quick to separate his personal faith from a professional calling.

“I love God, but loving God does not automatically mean one must become a pastor,” he explained.

He noted that while he felt a “calling” to restore a house of worship, leading the people inside is a different matter entirely.

The singer revealed a surprising detail: he isn’t even a member of the church he is currently renovating.

“Imagine I am building my own things around here and then there is this church that is falling apart. As a person of God, I saw it fit to support the community and worshippers so they have a good place to pray,” he noted.

“Once the construction is complete, my work there is done. I won’t be in the office.”

For now, the singer remains focused on his music career and his thriving agribusiness, Waingo Farm, where he rears pigs and grows vegetables to sustain his family.

Having grown up on the streets of Kibera before his “grass to grace” transformation, the singer has often spoken about the need for musicians to have multiple income streams.

As he prepares to hand over the keys to the new sanctuary, Guardian Angel’s message to his fans is clear: he will continue to serve God through his songs and his community work, but the pulpit belongs to someone else.
