She was once the undisputed “Queen of Content” in East Africa, raking in millions of views and lucrative brand deals. But behind the glitz and smiles, Eve Mungai was reaching a breaking point.
After a staggering eight-month hiatus that left her 1.5 million-strong audience in the dark, the 25-year-old creator has returned with a raw, emotional confession about the “dark side” of internet fame.
Speaking over the past weekend, Mungai revealed that she had become a “slave” to her own success.
“After five years of the same routine, I finally got tired!” she admitted in a candid update.
“I realized I had lost myself chasing the bag, chasing people’s dreams and not my own.”
The “new” Eve isn’t just mentally different; she’s physically transformed. Following three months of grueling gym sessions that began on October 6, 2025, Mungai revealed she has climbed to 62kg—her heaviest weight to date.

While some fans have celebrated her fuller, toned figure, others have cruelly demanded she return to her “original” slim frame. The YouTuber, however, was in no mood for compromise.
“You do not get to choose what version of me you like,” she fired back at body-shamers on Instagram.
“You will prefer whatever body I decide to have because this is my world, not yours. And if that bothers you, that’s your problem and not mine.”
The confession marks a significant shift for the star, who rose to fame documenting the lives of others in Nairobi’s slums and high-end estates.
Mungai explained that the relentless pressure to vlog every day led to a total loss of creative control and personal identity.
“I took some time off to rediscover Eve, to figure out what I truly love,” she shared, adding that the break was a necessary escape from a “relentless” five-year grind.
“Life is so much more than burnout and just making money.”

This comeback is about more than just numbers for Mungai. After a high-profile and messy professional split from former partner Director Trevor in 2024, many wondered if she could survive as a solo act.
By reclaiming her health and her narrative, Mungai is signaling that her new era is about quality over quantity.
“The comeback is personal this time,” she vowed.
“One thing’s for sure, I belong on the screens.”
As she steps back into the spotlight, Mungai is proving that while she may have “lost herself” in the pursuit of wealth, she has found a much stronger version of herself in the silence.
