The late Ken Okoth and Anne Thumbi met for the first time in 2011 when the latter was gearing up to vie for Kibra constituency seat in the 2013 general elections.

Anne was still a nurse when she first met Ken, the late Kibra MP was smitten with her at first sight and he didn’t waste time asking her out.

“He was a good man. So loving and always positive about life,” said Anne Thumbi during a recent interview with Daily Nation.

Ken would later appoint Anne to lead his team as he campaigned to be MP for Kibra constituency. The two moved around the constituency campaigning, and come March 2013, when the general election was held, Ken emerged as the winner.

Their love blossomed for years, and in 2015 Ken and Anne were blessed with a bouncing baby boy from their clandestine relationship.

Ken immediately assumed the fatherly role and was always there for Anne and their son. They named the little boy Jayden Baraka Okoth.

The late MP’s family knew about Anne and Jayden, Ken’s mother met his grandson on several occasions when the Kibra MP took him to meet the family.

Ken and Anne’s love affair was not known in public until after his death. Nairobi governor speak on Ken and Anne’s love affair during the deceased’s memorial service at Moi Girls High School.

Sonko revealed that Ken implored him to nominated Anne to Nairobi County assembly in 2017 after the general election which was held in August.
