Zuchu was slated to perform in Nairobi and Eldoret on December 10 and 11, 2022, but her two shows were cancelled abruptly at the last minute.
The Bongo singer on Friday evening December 9 announced she would not be performing in Kenya as planned due to unavoidable circumstances.
“My Kenyan fan-milly I am so saddened to announce that both shows in Nairobi and Eldoret have been postponed until further notice. The good news is that the promoters Jabali entertainment will soon announce new dates,” Zuchu wrote.
Zuchu promised that she will communicate how fans who had already bought tickets for her shows will get a refund.
“To the people who purchased for 10th and 11th your tickets will stay valid until the events’ new date or else will be notified on how to collect your refund. I am so sorry for the inconvenience trust me I pushed but it’s beyond my control. I love you ❤️ until next time,” she added.
Event organizer and promoter TrueBlaq Limited and Jabali Entertainment issued a joint statement saying that the Vybz Konnect events in Nairobi and Eldoret featuring Zuchu had been postponed to April 2023.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform you that the Vybz Konnect events in Nairobi and Eldoret featuring Zuchu alongside other amazing Kenyan artistes won’t be going ahead as planned. We are all hugely disappointed but the good news is that both events have been rescheduled to take place during the Easter weekend on Saturday April 8th, and Sunday April 9th, 2023 respectively.
“We hope you can jpin us. All purchases for the December 10th and 11th, 2022 dates will be honored for the rescheduled Easter weekend dates. Purchasers will be notified on how to obtain a refund if they are unable to attend,” the statement read in part.
