You know Octopizzo always thinks different, talks different, acts in a different way and sure enough sees things differently and he isn’t known to hold back his tongue when it comes to things that relates to music, things he holds dear or any other thing whatsoever and yesterday he had a bunch to say to the coveted Bingwa Music Award fraternity.
The rapper said officially through his social media account that he won’t be accepting the award that he won at the Bingwa Music Award for the category of ‘Comeback Artiste Of the Year’ simply because they didn’t check on his catalogue and find out that he didn’t leave the music industry for anything or anyone and if leaving the country to go on tour counts, then the whole situation is a joke.
He didn’t accept the award for the sole reason that Bingwa Music Award selection board didn’t know what they were doing and went on ahead to show his disgust and disappointment to awards in the country. He later on asked them to give his award to another artiste, Wahu who was nominated alongside him in the same category.
He didn’t meant no foul though because like I said, Octopizzo doesn’t hold back his opinions and as it so happens, this turns out to be one of them
This is the long statement Octopizzo wrote directed to the Bingwa Music Awards
“Thanks for #BingwaAwards for the Award last Night,unfortunately I won’t take the award of “ComeBack Artist Of The Year” I never went anywhere,I’ve been here since my 1st hit single OnTop,I put in more work than any artist of my Genre ,unless you are awarding me for coming back from my Europe tour then it doesn’t make sense ,I never understand awards in this Country,I’d rather you acknowledge & Respect my work than award me & nominating me for a “comeback” Award which was such a joke,so if you don’t mind plizz give my award to #Wahu who was in the same category. Next time you nominate me please make sure you do a background check of my catalogue;The Quality of Hip hop music when it comes to Audio & video that I’ve brought to this industry since I stepped in.
