With 30 mixtapes and numerous EPs and accolades under his belt, YoungstaCPT real name Riyadh Roberts is regarded as not only one of the most important South African emcees of this generation but an important African rapper to ever graced the microphone to rap.
The Cape Town native has worked with the best of the best African rappers from Khaligraph Jones, Zoocci Coke Dope, Nasty C, BigStar Johnson, Chad, DJ Switch, Priddy Ugly, Stogie T, DJ Switch, K.O, Rouge, Blaklez and both of these great rap artistes gives massive props for working with the established Cape Town rapper who got to meet up with his rap idol, Nas in Dubai late last year, and even had the honor to share the same stage with the American legendary rapper whilst there.
AKA recently took to social media the other day to express his ecstaticness for getting to work with YoungstaCPT for the very first time, that should tell you something, especially coming from the Supa Mega himself who is usually precise with his work and keen in choosing who he gets to work with.
YoungstaCPT who has describes his sound as Kaapstad more than enough times and is also known to have released one of the hardest sneakers(Takkies) records out from Africa dubbed ‘Takkies’ shared with his loyal international fans via social media the official cover art for his upcoming album dubbed ‘3T’ which is somewhat an acronym to Things Tak3 Time’ to be expected on the 29th March 2019.
The interesting phenomena about the 3T album is the fact that it has 22 records on it with only two features coming from Robert Black and Kay faith.
The Award-winning YoungstaCPT has proven over the years how prolific he has been in the rap and hip hop industry and with his highly anticipated ‘3T’ album, we can surely see how an awesome artiste he is by having 20 records out of the 22 records in the yet-to-be-released album done without any features at all, what an artiste. Most if not all rap artistes should aspire to be like YoungstaCPT or at least to have his work ethic and prolificness in his craft.
YoungstaCPT’s ‘3T’ album is said to be narrated by Boeta Shaakie Roberts, his grandfather, and he has already released one single off the album dubbed ‘Yaatie’ which is a name that he was given in the hood that most people are already feeling already.
