Xenophobic Attacks Erupt In Zambia Following Cases Of Ritual Killings By Foreigners (Photos)

Anti-foreigners attacks erupted in Zambian capital of Lusaka on Monday as angry locals took up arms against foreigners whom they accused of involvement in ritual killings.

The xenophobic attacks started on Saturday after a mutilated body of a Zambian national was discovered.

The deceased was reportedly killed by foreigners who obtained his body parts for money rituals. Protestors majorly attacked Rwandans who they accused of participating in the ritualistic killings.

Rowdy Zambians looted shops belonging to foreigners in the capital prompting the police to spring into action to bring back law and order.

Xenophobic attacks have become a common occurrence in Southern African states, years back foreigners were being killed in South Africa after locals accused immigrant workers of snatching them their jobs.
