Wuod Fibi, an outspoken Rhumba legend has opened up further about why he said what he said about Prince Indah being the top Rhumba, Ohangla musician in Kenya today.
The Barikiwa Studio founder and CEO explained that he didn’t say that in malice trying to look down upon other celebrated and talented musicians today.
He noted that it was Prince Indah’s time together with Emma Jalamo to shine in the Rhumba and Ohangle genres because it was just their time like in the future, other musicians will get their time to shine eventually.
Wuod Fibi also wants to stress that healthy competition is always welcomed but there shouldn’t be any competition that will see the demise of the already established artistes and those that intend to climb up in the music industry trying to make a name for themselves.

Wuod Fibi strongly believes that “the industry only becomes big when there is healthy competition and more artists joining in.”
He went on to urge all the fans to always be considerate when they are trying to bring down artistes who have a lot of people depending on them because at the end of the day, being an artiste is a career like any other career out there, it puts food on the table.
The ‘Mago Nonsense’ writer and performer urged everybody to be “loving, accommodative, criticize in love with an intention to help make better and not destroy. ” as reiterated in his statement that he made earlier on Prince Indah doing great at the moment who commands a huge following on social media and has the ability to pull a huge crowd when performing live.
As he maintained his stand of Prince Indah being the King of Rhumba and Ohangla music, Wuod Fibi whose daughter was once feted by Alicia Keys for singing her ‘Fire’ hit song said that every other person is a King in their own right as well.
Right below is what Wuod Fibi wrote on social media on June 12, 2021:
“Yesterday I spoke about something and it was very intentional. What I wanted to bring to your attention after your thought and opinion is this: All our artists are doing well and each one of them is working hard and trying their best to earn a living from the music trade.
As much as entertainment is the core thing, it is a career that pays their bills, so the best thing we as fans should do is to encourage our artists to continue working hard.
It is not healthy when you tell an artist that ” Idok Dala, Irumo e ground ” and such like words that demoralize one’s spirit and morale to keep working hard.
Fans are good people but at the same time there are fake fans who are there just to make your days terrible by throwing negativity towards you, all our artists are good, they have a unique touch and that is something we must appreciate the diversity of thought and touch in their craft.
The industry only becomes big when there is healthy competition and more artists joining in.
Between Prince Indah, Emma Jalamo, Musa Jakadalla, Freddy Jakadongo, Elisha Mtoto Wa Shule, Okoth Jarapogi, Kevoh Mac Awilly, and Tonny Ndiema just to mention a few, we have close to 500 young men and women employed and earning a living from this art.
Anytime you try to bring down their leaders, what do you think goes on in their mind? Let’s be loving, accommodative, criticize in love with an intention to help make better and not destroy.
Meanwhile, Prince Indah is currently doing well and commands a huge crowd and following, let’s celebrate him for the hard work, he is the reigning KING, the rest of us are kings in our own rights. Anto an everywhere, kik chandu. BABA YAO ”
