First off, what two people do with their lives is their business. But this is an interesting story of the fine line between that opinion and its application in real life.
Two female pastors recently got married at New Vision Full Gospel Baptist Church in East Orange, New Jersey, to the chagrin of one of the bride’s Pentecostal father. The father firmly declares she has been tricked by the devil!
” My father would not come here because he does not believe in same-sex marriage.” Pastor Twanna Gause told the New York Times about her August 24 nuptials to her best friend Pastor Vanessa Brown.” He told me the devil tricked me into this, and that if we had been married in biblical times, we would have been stoned to death.”
Her father who is a reverend had been invited to the wedding ceremony but declined the invite because he stated he still had theological differences with his own daughter.
The two women who got married had met as choir girls 30 years prior. They then started seeing each other romantically and in 2008 they revealed this news to her father. Twanna’s father did not take the news too well and he apparently slammed his bible down on his table when he was told and asked if they had read the bible. He was very angry.
To this day, they have not reconciled their differences. Twanna’s mother apparently went for the wedding ceremony in support of her daughter. Interesting is all I will say. Interesting! Look at what one of their friends on Instagram posted:
