Wizkid makes history by being the most streamed African artiste

Wizkid real name Ayodeji Balogun has struck another milestone on his lucrative and illustrious music career being the first African artiste to hit eight million monthly streams on music streaming platforms, Spotify.

The record was previously held by the France-based Congolese rapper and singer Maitre Gims who had a whooping seven million monthly streams on Spotify.

Wizkid who started recording music at the solemn age of eleven years old has achieve a whole lot of accolades not only in Africa but globally being the first African recording artiste to sell out the Skyway Theatre back in 2018 with Beyonce who collaborated with him on her ‘Lion King’ inspired album being the only artiste to have sold out the same venue.

The Nigerian afropop artiste also became the first active African recording artiste to walk the runway at the a Dolce and Gabbana fashion show.

It’s clearly and evidently Africa is taking over the world through music and many other finest things.
