Wilson Airport workers have been praised for returning tourists’ valuables. Mr. Benson Nickolson, a citizen of the United Kingdom had lost 19,000 USD and valuable electronics.
The workers gave cash, and items, back to the owners.
The two KAA employees and a police officer have been commended and will be rewarded for their honesty.
The three good Samaritans, Joseph Kabangi, a security supervisor, baggage collection area, security staff Martin Kamau and Brajeliner Fikiri, a policewoman who controls motorists arriving at Wilson to pick those who have arrived have impressed and made a good name for Kenyans.
An estimate of about 300 planes and 3,000 travelers crisscross Wilson Airport daily, a majority of them being tourists.
“The procedure for procuring CCTV has been slow, but it is currently at the procurement stage, and we anticipate that by the end of this year the CCTV will be operational, ensuring that this airport is covered by CCTV systems,” says Mr. Joseph Okumu, the Regional Airport Manager.
