A few days ago, Sanaipei Tande had netizens talking all about her after her interview/s that disclosed a lot of things that most people didn’t know about her.
Among the many interesting things she had to say in the interviews, she confessed that Willy Paul had reached out to her for a collaboration project, which she turned down, politely as she can because her interests don’t align with those of the former gospel musician, Willy Paul.
Sanaipei Tande said that she isn’t amused by Willy Paul’s tendencies of always using clout to push his music and gimmicks as opposed to just using the music itself to sell itself.
“I don’t do kiki [publicity stunts] and I always do music that is relevant to people. I don’t follow the crowd as well. First, content and talent. And how you carry yourself around people is also a determination.
Willy Paul asked for a collabo privately and I responded privately, so if he did not understand, then he has a problem. I have already decided and so my no should be respected,” she opened up about turning down the Willy Paul collabo respectfully.
Speaking exclusively to Mpasho through one of their reporters who phoned the controversial ‘Sitolia’ singer, he was clearly disappointed in learning what Sanaipei Tande had to say about him because he has respect for her and he admires her as well.
“I think it’s sad cause it is someone I grew up listening to. It’s so unfortunate that someone I have admired could talk like that. You know such is life,” he told the Mpasho reporter.
Willy Pozze went on to disclose that he asked Sanaipei Tande for a collabo not once but twice with the first time being some years back and the second time is quite recent. He was turned down on both instances.
Willy Paul wanted to do a collaboration with her because he’s been a fan of her work for years and it would only be a dream come true if he were to work with her in one of his records.
“It was some time ago, then recently. After all, anyone who sees this should know that I wanted to sing with her cause I was her fan. First thing, I am A-list. If we were to do a collabo, I would bring more to the collaboration than she would,” Willy Paul continued.
When Willy Paul was asked about the clout claims he was quick to answer saying that, “Yes. This should make her know that me asking for a collabo was simply because I am a fan and that she was someone I had grown up listening to.”
At the end of the day, to this day, despite their subtle back and forth, Willy Paul still has so much respect for Sanaipei Tande even after she declined to work with him on a song.
Time will tell if they will get to work together, in the music industry, is usually safe to never say never because of the unpredictability the industry is known for just like politics.
