Willy Paul, who recently hinted at a potential move to Germany, has declared himself the only contemporary musician from Kenya whose songs are gaining traction and popularity beyond East Africa.
Taking to Instagram, Willy Paul, also known as Pozee, expressed his daily prayers for fellow Kenyan artists, urging them to remain patient and hopeful that their hard work will eventually pay off, allowing their music to reach audiences beyond Kenya’s borders.
In his post, Pozee posed a question to his fans, reflecting on why he appears to be the sole Kenyan artiste enjoying international popularity.
The artiste, known for his album ‘Beyond Gifted’, shared that he feels overwhelmingly blessed and even suggested that he has asked God to direct some of these blessings towards others. He positioned himself as a prime example for other Kenyan artistes to emulate.
“Kenyan artistes need to work hard like Pozee to be heard outside East Africa like Pozee. I don’t know why I’m the only artiste from Kenya whose songs are trending abroad? God bless others too! But don’t underestimate my blessings,” Willy Paul remarked, referencing the success of his latest single, “Lululala.”
Willy Paul has frequently claimed to be one of Kenya’s most successful artistes on the international stage, often backing these assertions with tangible evidence.
Notably, his 2017 collaboration “I Do” with Jamaican artiste Alaine marked a significant milestone in his career, elevating his status in the music industry.
Following this success, Pozee secured collaborations with other prominent musicians such as Harmonize and Rayvanny, further cementing his reputation in contemporary music.
As Willy Paul continues to enjoy his international acclaim, he remains hopeful that his fellow Kenyan musicians will soon experience similar success and recognition worldwide.
