One-fourth member of the formidable music group Sauti Sol, Willis Austin Chimano finally answered one of the pressing questions that Sauti Sol fans were waiting to know the answer to.

The multi-talented artiste opened up in a recent exclusive interview with a local publication, Mpasho where he got to finally explain why each, and every member of Sauti Sol decided to individually embark on their solo careers.

Chimano reiterated that the group is not by any way breaking up, he stressed that they’re stronger than ever all things considered.

So, for anybody out there who was looking forward to the internationally recognized, talented group to break up, sorry, it’s not going to happen any time soon or maybe ever!

The reason that Chimano gave for each member releasing solo projects is because each artiste wants to grow their talents as a solo artiste which will help the group grow even further once they are done with their solo projects.

“We have been together since our high school days so at some point you may not who you are as an artiste. As an individual, you sometimes want to explore your talent. If it’s about kukosana we would have done so a long time ago. Doing a solo project is a way for the brand to reinvent itself. It’s not a preparation for anything.

It reminds us that even as an individual we are still talented. We still write songs for each other, and everything is seamless,” Willis Chimano who happens to be Stella Nyanzi’s favorite musician told Mpasho.

In that same breath, Chimano disclosed that he’s about to release his solo debut studio EP project in February, while we are waiting on that, he shared that he will be performing at Harmony Festival as a solo act.

Chimano promised that he will put on a show that a lot of revelers will never ever forget having that he doesn’t have a lot of songs releases out yet even though his studio EP has 7 tracks on it.

Being the headliner on the Harmony Festival that is slotted for the 26th of February, Chimano can’t wait to prove that he was born to be a performer on stage for his fans.

“On the 26th of February there will be a love and Harmony festival and I will be the headliner. Given I do not have many songs, I will be baptized by fire, but I promise to give my fans a great show.

I promise to give the fans a great show. My EP has 7 tracks, it will come out a week later,” he went on speaking about his upcoming debut solo show.

Among the songs that he will play on his show will be the hit record dubbed ‘Friday Feeling’ that was plucked from the studio project ‘Heavy is the crown’.

“The song is about friendship, love, heartbreak, and insecurities. The song is about you wearing your crown and not seeking validation from people,” Chimano opened up about his ‘Friday Feeling’ hit song that is gradually becoming a street anthem.
