The Deputy President has made it clear that he’s not ready to stop giving out his contributions to churches around the country because of his political enemies.
Speaking at a recent function, Deputy President William Samoei Ruto said that he doesn’t have any intention of stop helping out where he can because he’s able to do that because he was taught to always help and give out since he was a kid in Sunday School.
Talking to Raila Odinga subliminally, the Deputy President called him out for talking about his donations to churches despite him being in politics for 30 years.
“Yeye amekuwa siasa miaka thelathini, Mjumbe, Waziri, Waziri Mkuu, sasa, jameni. Unajua kuna tofauti kubwa sana kati ya mtu mchoyo na mwenye hana, it’s a world of a difference, kuna tofauti kubwa my friends, tuwachane na hiyo(He has been in politics for thirty years, Member of Parliament, Minister, Prime Minister. You know there is a big difference between a greedy person and a person who don’t have anything, it’s a world of a difference, there is a big difference my friends, let’s leave that that alone,)”.
William Ruto went on to say that he was taught in Sunday School that he will be blessed if he gives out to Church wholeheartedly.
He urged his critics to stop talking about him going to harambee.
“Wawache kuniongelea ati nimefanya harambee hapa ya Kanisa, ati nimefanya harambee. Mimi ni mtu nimeenda Sunday School, nikafundishwa kwa Sunday School wewe ukitoa utabarikiwa. Na utapata ile imewekwa, pressed down, shaken, overflowing. Hiyo ni Biblia, mimi sijaandika Biblia(They should stop talking about me having harambee in Church. I am a person who went to Sunday School, I was taught in Sunday School when you give you will be blessed and it will be overflowing. That’s what the Bible says, I didn’t write the Bible)”
Ruto adressed the rumors of him carrying sacks of money and walking with them to harambees.
“Sijui kama tunaelewana, sasa naskia wameenda kujaza maneno hata juzi nilisoma kwa gazeti; “ati oh, Ruto anaenda, anatembea anabeba pesa kwa gunia(Now I heard they’ve gone to add words, I even read the other day that Ruto is going carrying money in sacks)”
The Deputy President says that Raila Odinga has money that can fit inside a sack since it’s KShs. 1 billion disclosing that that’s the estimated value of Raila Odinga’s home.
“Mi nauliza, kwani ile nyumba amejenga ya 1 billion, kama hiyo 1 billion ingewekwa kwa gunia, haingejaa? na mumeona nyumba yangu hapa, mumeona nyumba yangu si ni hii tu nyumba ya kawaida ya mtu wa ku-hustle dunia hii(I ask, that house that he has built worth 1 billion, if that 1 billion were to be placed in a sack, would it not be full? and you have seen my house here, you have seen my house, is it not just this ordinary house of a man who tries to hustle this world ).”
