Kenya’s Presidential Strategic Communication Unit has been disbanded. This comes at a time when politics seem to take center stage as the country gears up for elections in 2017. The People affected by the suspension are Dennis Ole Itumbi,Munyori Buku, Eric Ng’eno and J. Kinyua.

Esipisu has not been affected by the move. So, why was the PSCU disbanded by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The main reason majorly mentioned is,the PSCU team has been issuing mistructured communication to Kenyans.

As Kenyans on Twitter Celebrate Itumbi’s loss, there lies uncertainty on what will happen to be affected members.

Unconfirmed reports allege that the members of the now disbanded PSCU will make Jubilee Alliance Party 2017 campaign strategy.

There are also stories that it could have come as a result of a recent tweef that Itumbi had with the New York times, but blogger Robert Alai says it’s not.

Alai claims..

‘PSCU has not been disbanded because of the NY Times article. It’s because of the struggle by NSC to shutdown Twitter and Facebook during the elections.

Key State House operatives have been threatening members of PSCU who have argued that such a move would get people off their living rooms into the street.

NSC is determined to make sure that social media is shutdown during the elections.

The most tragic bit is that even Nzioka Waita thinks that it will help Jubilee if they rig and shutdown social media. Government is not like private service. People need to think.’

He further says, that he’d told Itumbi that he would be sacked before 2017.

So,what’s next for the team? For the vocal Itumbi?
