Revealed: Incurable disease that forced gospel singer Esther Wahome to take break from music

Esther Wahome of the ‘Kuna Dawa’ hit song disappeared from the limelight leaving her fans guessing about her whereabouts.

The gospel singer shot to fame in 2009 when she released ‘Kuna Dawa’ which became a big hit earning her publicity beyond the borders of Kenya.

After the success of ‘Kuna Dawa’, Esther Wahome released other hits like ‘Furahia’, ‘Daktari’ which cemented her position as Kenya’s most sought-after gospel musician.

However, Esther Wahome took a break from her musical career to take care of her family and specifically, her son who was born with autism.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability caused by differences in the brain. People with ASD often have problems with social communication and interaction, and restricted or repetitive behaviors or interests. People with ASD may also have different ways of learning, moving, or paying attention.

Autism has no cure.

After a long hiatus from music, Esther Wahome made a comeback in 2019 but was immediately affected by the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

“I had been doing my Ministry all over the world until Covid-19 hit the country. In fact, when the pandemic began, I was almost locked down in Europe,” Esther Wahome

Since she jetted back into the country in 2020, the 46-year-old has been participating in church service, specifically preaching to different congregants.

The mother of three says that she has heard stories of healing, restoration and hope, from people who have listened to her songs over the years.

At the moment, the revered, celebrated musician is currently working on her Extended Play(EP).
