Wendy Kemunto is a Kenyan artist, a very talented singer who has gone through depths to make sure her music is heard.
Her musical journey has been a tough one but what can you say she always has a way of doing her things and this is why right now she is a household name in the Kenyan Music Industry.
During one of her interviews, the young artist opened up about her life story, how she was assaulted and abused by two Kenyan rugby players last year. In her own words, she said; “If you don’t fight, silence will kill you,” she continued to quote that those are the words that kept her going through that traumatic experience.
The singer admitted that it was a journey that never ended because she still has those days that she breaks down and remembers everything that happened to her but being strong enough to talk my story to people going through the same thing has been a blessing and encouragement to me personally.
On a recent session with Black Market Live, Wendy performs a live session for her song dubbed ‘Huru’. This song talks about a story of courage, defiance, strength, and victory. She sings about triumphant victory from a once dark and hollow place.
The song also passes a positive message to anyone going through the depths of negativity because it will get better, you will rise and shine.
