What ‘My Way’ means to Wendy Kay
“My Way is a personal statement to me. A statement that recognizes growth, determination, self-love, gratitude, and vulnerability. A journey of finding my own path through the external and internal noise” Wendy said in part.
“I wanted it to represent my love and appreciation for our African culture hence the traditional neckpiece adorned with paintings on my face that also represented that I am a warrior in the journey of life and ironically a student to it as well.” She continued
Wendy Kay also went on to break down the meaning behind the official cover art and why she chose to use orange on the cover art for the ‘My Way’ project and after knowing the meaning behind everything in regard to the project, you’d come to appreciate that Kay has one of the best curated and well-thought projects with a story in the music industry.
“I chose the color orange as the main color for the project as it represents hope, encouragement, happiness, and success and honestly positive vibes.” Wendy Kay said in part, “And it is my wish that you experience all that and more when you get to listen to my EP during this trying time in the world.”
Explaining the meaning of the circle behind her head on the official cover art photo of the ‘My Way’ EP, Wendy Kay proves that there’s nothing out there that she does without making God apart of it.
“Finally, the “circle” that is seen behind me represents God’s favor and protection in my life and career… I am nothing without my Creator and forever grateful to the Most High for my gift and for so many second chances.”
