Most would remember him for his hit song ‘Digida’ which dominated the airwaves back in the days.
Ragga Dee who was eying Kampala mayoral seat lost to incumbent Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago in the country-wide mayoral and councilors elections which were conducted on Wednesday.
Ragga Dee was contesting the seat on a National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket which is the political party that sponsored President Museveni to ‘victory’ in the just concluded Ugandan presidential elections.
Ragga Dee garnered 49,366 votes compared to Erias Lukwago’s 176,637 votes. Kampala is viewed to be an opposition stronghold and since Ragga Dee vied on the ruling NRM ticket, his chances of winning were dim.
Ragga Dee is a wealthy musician who boasts of owning a fleet of posh European vehicles, guess he will be fine without a job for the next 5 years!
