Rioting UoN students have burnt SONU offices, calling for the resignation of Babu Owino as the SONU President.
Tension is high at the University of Nairobi, with a heavy presence of anti riot police. The students have reportedly been throwing stones at vehicles along Uhuru Highway.
As the drama continues Babu Owino has vowed to remain in power and will run for the SONU seat come 2017.
Babu is quoted as saying
“In 2017 if I don’t get someone to hand over power to, I will vie in SONU election in April and in August vie for Embakasi East parliamentary seat; so I will be an MP and SONU Chair at the same time; I am a jack of all trades.”
