Last year, 2016 was typically Wangechi’s year after she played a major role to the realization of the Tusker’s campaign ‘Here is to us’ and also headlined for UK’s top rap act, Tinie Tempah who was in the country courtesy of Jameson Connects with most notable and respected hip hop and rap DJ on December, Tim Westwood. Other musicians who also graced the stage that day were Khaligraph Jones, Phy and Dela.
That same year, Wangechi got to release her sophomore album, ‘Do Not Consume If Seal Is Broken’ which got a positive reception locally, regionally and internationally.
First forward to this year, Wangechi under producer Provoke’s record label, Nuke Recordings has released her latest and first single this year called ‘X2’ or pronounced times two which ideally breaks down how someone needs to put in work to get what they want in life.
The single is off her up and coming album which is due to get released later on this year, it is key to note that Wangechi is one serious artiste who releases an album every year which many artistes in Kenya have not been able to achieve.
Have a listen to the ‘X2’ hit record.
