BBC journalist Waihiga Mwaura commends wife Joyce Omondi for releasing new song after long hiatus

Gospel singer Joyce Omondi ended her musical sabbatical as she released a new praise and worship song dubbed ‘Hasanna’.

The songbird’s new song premiered on YouTube on February 1, 2024.

“Hosanna is our declaration of praise and confidence that salvation has come; that salvation belongs to our great Jehovah who delivers us from fear and hopelessness. Hosanna in the highest,” Joyce Omondi described her new song.

 

BBC journalist Waihiga Mwaura couldn’t keep calm after his wife, who had been away from the music scene for a year with no new songs, released her first hit of 2024.

Waihiga, who happens to be Joyce Omondi’s biggest cheerleader, took to social media to celebrated his wife, noting that ‘Hosanna’ is the song of the season.

“2024 is about to get exciting as my beloved @JoyceOmondi gets ready to share what she has been working on. There’s a lot lined up,” Waihiga wrote.

In a different post, now sharing a YouTube snippet of the song he went on to add;

“Happy New Month!!! So excited that you can now listen to #Hosanna officially out on my beloved @joyceomondi YouTube channel🙌. Start off February on the right note, with this fresh sound, exalting God’s name no matter what situation you may find yourself in. A song for the season. So proud of you, my love. Onwards and upwards,” a proud Mwaura wrote on his socials.

Commenting on her hubby’s post an elated Joyce professed her undying love for him as she thanked her man for the unwavering support.

“Thank you so much my love! ❤️ Aaaah!!! Love you!!!❤️❤️❤️,” Joyce excitedly commented under her husband’s post.
